Man Won $250000
Billy Pruett of Shelby chose to play the lottery for the second time, spent $5 on a scratch-off, and ended up winning a $250,000 jackpot. Pruett remarked that his heart dropped into his feet and had trouble sleeping all night. The winning Mega Bucks Limited Edition ticket Pruett, 56, purchased was from Harry’s Quick Shop on Washburn Switch Road in Shelby. After the necessary state and federal tax withholdings, he collected his win at the lottery’s headquarters on Friday and brought home $177,526. He also declared that he would be purchasing his lady a significant Christmas present right now.
Pruett said that he also intended to save some money, pay certain expenses, and give part of the money to his friends. In August, the Mega Bucks Limited Edition launched with five $250,000 prizes. There is still one $250,000 prize up for grabs.
The lottery is able to earn more than $2.5 million a day on average for education because to scratch-off game ticket sales. Using lottery proceeds, the state gave Cleveland County $22.8 million in grants to assist with the construction of two new auditoriums at its two high schools.
